Global Expansion and Recognition

Under Beer’s leadership, United Hatzalah has grown to include over 8,000 volunteers from diverse backgrounds, including Jewish, Muslim, Christian, and Druze communities. The organization’s model has been replicated internationally, with branches established in countries like the United States, Panama, and Brazil.

Beer’s innovative approach to emergency medical services has earned him numerous accolades:

Social Entrepreneur of the Year by the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship (2010)

Presidential Award for Volunteerism from Israeli President Shimon Peres (2011)

Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (2012)

Victor J. Goldberg Prize for Peace in the Middle East (2013)

In March 2020, during a fundraising trip in Florida, Beer contracted COVID-19 and was hospitalized in critical condition, requiring sedation and intubation. After a challenging recovery, he returned to Israel in April 2020, greeted by his family and a large contingent of United Hatzalah volunteers.

Eli Beer’s vision and dedication have transformed emergency medical response in Israel and beyond. His work ensures that individuals receive timely medical assistance regardless of their location or background. Beer’s story is chronicled in the biography “90 Seconds: The Epic Story of Eli Beer and United Hatzalah”, highlighting his journey from a young volunteer to a global leader in emergency medical services.
